Natasha continues to build after completing Week 2 of training. After a very tough week 1 of training straight off the back of an 11 week coronavirus lockdown along with changing countries etc, Natasha was still sore and fatigued as she entered week 2. Week 2 was more football focused and allowed Natasha to adapt physically and to learn more of the Alkmaar/Dutch football philosophy. While she ended the week sore and tired there were clear signs that she is beginning to claw back some of the condition she had before the coronavirus lockdown. With a light week in front of her, she should make more big steps towards regaining the form that she had beforehand.
Well it was a huge week of change for Natasha. She changed, country, culture, language, house, team, coaches, coaching methods, training facility and much more. The first week of training was also tough to add to the challenge but all boxes ticked and time for some recovery before next weeks training. The first week of change is always the most difficult so the second week will see Natasha begin to blossom.
Gyms are still not open where we are but Natasha nails another upper body strength session on the terrace using resistance bands and sand bags. She finishes with 20kg situps. Nice work.
Natasha has made her decision for her next season and while she had plenty of interest from some big name clubs, the decision was quite easy in the end. A coach that has a palpable passion for football along with years of experience and who was very keen to bring Natasha to her team. An offer from the coach to work closely with Natasha to continue her development including 1 on 1 sessions (she has never had this offer in her career) and a personalized plan to help her improve. The lure of lots of game time at attacking midfield with a young and talented team in one of the strongest women's leagues in the world and really the decision made itself. It was an offer too good to refuse. So Natasha is just busting to get to the Netherlands and get started.
